2 Camping trips in Early June, 2021

June 5th, 2021
Josh and I head up for the first trip of the  year. We got a decent start out of town around 11am. Made it to the base of the mountain after doing some tree trimming on the way in. After about 45 minutes of hiking , we made it to the base of "Death Hill". After an arduous trip for me (Not Billy Goat), we make it to the top. Only one more climb to go, and that's to camp. Good news though, I didn't die!
Upon getting to camp, we quickly discover that our previous setup was not feasible this trip. There was too much water runoff, with creek flowing through our previous fire pit. This was the first trip up here where we actually had water at camp!
We took a few hours to  setup camp and gather some firewood. We ended up falling this gem of a tree. Took some work, but ended up being a nice addition to the new fire area. More pics later on...

The infamous Bigfoot Tree! We had to take a reference picture to show the height of the unexplainable breaks from the 2020 summer trip

Just enjoying the fruits of the Billy Goat woodchopping method.

In action!! Who needs axes and saws?!
